The Abuptic Festival is underway in Argyle with lots of fun planned for the rest of the week including a Cape Island Boat Cruise, Family Scavenger Hunt, Fireworks and bathtub races.

Thursday, Aug. 7

Craft at Wharf

10-11:30 a.m. Kids make a craft at the wharf. Contact Jill Surette at 762-3138.

Cake Walk

Noon at Camp Cove Wharf. Please bring baked goods. Contact Diane Walker.

Street Hockey Tournament

1 p.m. at Camp Cove Wharf. Contact Brian Nickerson at 762-3140.

Cape Island Boat Cruise

Historic points of interest and bird watching starting at 1 p.m. Bring life jackets if possible. No charge but reservations are suggested. Contact Bud Spinney at 643-2425.

Cribbage Tournament

2-5 p.m. at Central Argyle Community Hall

Cycling Time Trials

6:30 p.m. starting at Walter Spinney's and ending in Argyle Head. Contact Gayland Goodwin.

Skip Boo Tournament

7:30 p.m. at the Glenwood Hall. Contact Florence Nickerson.

Dance at Ye Olde Argyler Lodge

9 p.m. until midnight. 19+ with a cover charge of $10.

Friday, Aug. 8

Bud's Abuptic Breakfast

8-10 a.m. at the Central Argyle Community Hall. $5 per person. Proceeds go to the festival.

Argyle Mile

11 a.m. starting at Marilyn's driveway (Victoria Road) and ending at Camp Cove Wharf.

Smart Be Safe Tour

Insurance Bureau of Canada DUMB Car stationary distracted driver simulator and safe home tent. Camp Cove Wharf.

Youth Fishing Tournament

12:30-1:30 p.m. at Camp Cove Wharf. 16-and-under, life jackets and adult supervision required.

Remote Control Car Races

2:30 p.m. at Camp Cove Wharf. Sponsored by Camp Cove Harbour Authority. Contact Craig Prouty.

Haddock Fish Fry

4 p.m at Camp Cove Wharf.

Family Scavenger Hunt

6-8 p.m. at Camp Cover Wharf.

Fireworks

Starts at dusk from Nanny Island near Camp Cove Wharf.

Saturday, Aug. 9

Boat Rally Scavenger Hunt

9-11:30 a.m. at Camp Cove Wharf. Contact Adam Spinney at 643-2300.

Fun and Game for kids at wharf

Camp Cove Wharf. Games for all ages.

Chili Cook-off

12-4 p.m at Camp Cove Wharf. Judging is at 4 p.m. Enter as a family or group.

Bathtub Races

1:30 p.m. at Camp Cove Wharf. Bathtubs provided. Life jackets required.

Rowing

Saturday Night in the Tent

Sunday Morning Worship

11 a.m. at Argyle Pubnico Baptist Church. All are welcome.

Glenwood Park Mixer

2 p.m Hot dogs and juice will be provided. Please bring sweets and sandwiches, etc. Cardboard boat races and other fun.

Gospel Sing Song
