INCIDENT COMMAND

Eight members of the Yarmouth Fire Department spent two days with instructor Dave Kendrick, April 19 and 20, learning the command procedures that gives them the objectives for a given scenario on the fire grounds. This system used by many departments teaches how things can be set up and how to manage a particular incident with the manpower and equipment available. One of the most dangerous scenarios that could be faced by emergency responders is a total free-lance operation at an emergency scene.

Members were asked to size up the incident, identify incident priorities, strategic goals, tactical objectives and organize the command structure. Following the instructions a 50 question test was written.
