Hello everyone and Happy soon-to-be April Fool’s Day. Make sure you’re aware because the most unsuspecting person will play a trick on you. For people playing the tricks, just make sure they’re all in good fun.

There will be a ticket auction April 5 at the Melanson Community hall. The viewing will begin at 1 p.m. and the draws will begin at two. Proceeds are to support needed renovations to the washroom. Everyone is welcome.

Registration for swimming lessons at Acadia takes place April 5 starting at 8 a.m. There are various time slots and all levels of swimming are available. For more information, you can contact the Acadia box office.

There will be a bean, scallop and ham supper at the White Rock Community hall April 12 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.: $7 for adults and $3 for children 12-and-under. Take-out orders are available after 3 p.m. by calling 542-7936. Hope to see you there.

The card party March 25 had eight-and-a-half tables in attendance. Audrey Keddy won the women’s high and Les Allen won the high for the men. Gwen Ells won the low for the evening while Jane Davidson won the 50/50. The door prize went to Helen Schofield and Hazel Boylen won the traveler.

Remember, soccer registration will be coming up soon, as well as primary registration. If you need any dates for primary registration, contact your local school for more information. I will pass along the soccer registration dates as I receive them.

I’ve noticed some drivers aren’t taking time to be aware of school buses and I would like to remind them. Even if the bus doesn’t have its lights on – if it’s turning or backing up - give the driver ample time and room to do so.

Don’t be rushing by as they back up just to be sure to get ahead of them. I personally think it takes a lot for a person to concentrate and drive such a large vehicle safely; they shouldn’t have to worry about being in the way of someone for a few minutes.

I know he won’t be happy with me for reporting this in the paper, but for anyone that knows me, I don’t always listen. Happy birthday to Todd Schofield. Todd is celebrating April 1. I hope his day is a happy one.

I think that’s all for this week. Have a great week and let’s hope that April brings nicer weather.
