April is Daffodil Month and for the Canadian Cancer Society, that means time for annual campaigns. For many years, the dedicated members of the Shelburne/Lockeport Unit have worked tirelessly to raise important funds for our mission. After much consideration, many of our local captains and canvassers have decided to retire. We would like to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to every volunteer who supported this campaign over the years. Thank You!

As an organization we raise money for one reason, and for one reason only; to carry out our mission to eradicate cancer and support those living with the disease.

In 2013, the Canadian Cancer Society Nova Scotia Division funded leading edge research, advocated for healthier public policies and provided much needed support for Nova Scotians through the accommodations program (in Halifax and Sydney), Camp Goodtime & Cancer Connection. None of that work could have happened without your support.

So, while no one will come knocking on your door this spring, it is our sincere hope that you will continue your annual support and consider making a donation to the Society. There are several ways to donate: call 1-800-639-0222 to donate over the phone, visit our website, cancer.ca to donate online, or send a donation in the mail using a cheque or money order.

Your continued support is much appreciated.
