The Avon View Avalanche girls’ fast pitch softball team are hosting the provincial championships at the St. Croix ball field June 6-7. Check out specific times on the AV website, but please come out and support the girls. Let’s cheer them on to victory!

Speaking of champions, the Avalanche girls’ rugby team bested KES at regionals on May 29 and will be headed for provincial competition. Again, check our website for details on where and when.

Avon View’s spring fling was held on May 30. Beautiful sunshine helped students take part in a variety of activities held through extended lunch. The big draw was the automotive show and shine. Every once in a while, we give our car buffs a chance to show off. A great time was had by all.

Our first day of exams is June 18, but several courses consist of process or in-class exams that will begin earlier. It is essential that students attend classes and put forth their best effort in order to ensure their course goals are met.

Our We Act group has had an awesome year, working diligently to fundraise more than $1,000. The money has been donated to the local SPCA, the IWK, and globally to World Vision and Free the Children’s We Create Change campaign. This is a small group of students, so they deserve a round of applause for their efforts.

“Thank you is extended to the Windsor Superstore for their continued support that we receive for the Breakfast Program,” reports Mary Sanford MacKenzie, an educational assistant with the Career Access.

“Through their monetary donations, we are able to ensure our students are given a healthy start to their day. Also, thank you to Matthew 25 who donates to our Breakfast Program on a regular basis."

Career Access folks work hard at making the breakfast program at Avon View a success. Thanks to everyone who has helped us achieve our goals over the past year.
