Bernadette Jordan has put her name forward for the federal Liberal nomination in the South Shore-St. Margaret’s riding

Bernadette Johnson has put her name forward for the Liberal nomination in the federal riding of South Shore-St. Margaret's. 

 “There has been no question where my political loyalties lie” said Jordan, “There has been a red Liberal sign on my lawn for every Provincial & Federal election since my days as a Young Liberal”

The West Dublin resident, a married mother of three, has been an active member of numerous community boards, professional organizations, non-profits and event committees says she has been a dedicated Liberal for over 30 years.

Jordan says while she acknowledges deep frustrations held by many local residents about the Harper government’s record, it is the message of a new politics and a positive tone from leader Justin Trudeau that inspires her political philosophy.

Jordan says she expects there to be tough but healthy competition in the nomination race, but commits to remaining focused on the people in her community, not on other candidates or the Conservative government.

Bernadette Jordan has served as the Development Officer for Health Services Foundation in Bridgewater since 2006 where she has helped to raise millions of dollars for health care in our community. She has previously held positions with Lunenburg Economic Development Commission, Bowater Mersey, and Lighthouse Media and holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from St. Francis Xavier University.

She has held positions as President of the Atlantic Community Newspapers Association, Campaign Chair for the Association of Fundraising Professionals, marketing committee member for Bridgewater Development Association, School Advisory Committee for Park View Education Centre and Bridgewater High School as well as involvement with Awesome South Shore Foundation, Rockabilly Picnic, McKinnon Dance and many other community organizations.

Jordan is the second person to put their name forward for the Liberal nomination, after Jennifer Naugler.
