Boy charged after Sackville bear spray attack

Police say a 16-year-old boy is facing charges after five teens were attacked with bear spray during a robbery attempt on Tuesday night

Halifax RCMP say the incident happened around 8:30 p.m. June 17 at a local park on Walker Avenue in Lower Sackville.

Police say the 16-year-old demanded the group give up their valuables. When the refused, police say the accused sprayed them with bear spray and ran off.

The suspect was arrested a short time later by officers on nearby Marie Drive.

The teen is charged with administering a noxious substance, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon and breach of conditions.
