RCMP are urging motorists to be careful as snow has made roads slippery throughout Nova Scotia

Police are advising motorists to use caution out on the roads tonight, especially the 100 series highways, due to icy and snowy road conditions.

Police would also like to remind drivers to adjust  driving habits in light of the change of road conditions by slowing down, allowing extra time to get to the destination and allowing extra stopping distance between vehicles.

Drivers are also asked to be alert to emergency personnel: when approaching emergency vehicles, reduce  speed and move over to another lane if available.

Provincial RCMP say two tractor trailers collided and are on the side of the road on Highway 102 inbound near Exit 5a.   Traffic outbound on Hwy 118 is slow as police deal with a couple of crashes and officers are also responding to a vehicle crash on Highway 2 near Fall River.  There have also been several crashes on other roadways around the province.
