With a cold night predicted to follow a mild and wet afternoon, Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for most of the province.
Mild temperatures and periods of rain are forecast for the afternoon of Jan. 27, as a warm front pushes north of Nova Scotia. Temperatures in some areas will reach 5 to 8 C.
Tonight a strong cold front is forecast to sweep across the region and temperatures will plummet in its wake.
The combination of rain snow melt and rapidly falling temperatures could lead to some slippery roads and sidewalks.
