Man arrested after Highbury assaults

Police seized cash and contraband cigarettes in Barrington and Clarks Harbour.

Kings RCMP arrested a 24-year-old man Feb. 26 for what they are alleging was a “serious assault” on two people.

Police were called to a residence in Highbury around 9 p.m. after a call about the man assaulting a woman. While there, officers witnessed the same man assaulting another man. According to RCMP, both victims were taken to hospital and the male victim was seriously injured.

Lucas Morine, 24, has been charged with aggravated assault and assault causing bodily harm. He will remain in custody until a March 4 court appearance.
