A family of four received help from the Canadian Red Cross Aug. 13 after their home was gutted by fire earlier this week along a rural road just north of Kingston.
Red Cross volunteers arranged emergency purchases of clothing and food for a couple and their 13- and 10-year-old daughters. None were home at the time of the fire, so there were no injuries.
The family is staying for now in motel accommodation arranged through insurance adjusters while losses are assessed.
The fire occurred around 7 p.m. Aug. 11 on the Vault Road.
