Numbers up at 88th annual Lawrencetown event

The numbers were up Monday at the Annapolis Valley Exhibition in Lawrencetown. About 8,000 people went through the gates, up 3,000 from last year. And Tuesday's numbers were also up with 5,100 walking onto the grouds, up a staggering 3,500 from 2013.

And there's lots in store for Ex attendees today.

Although you won't see it on the agenda, Monday's and Tuesday's Hearts 'N Hooves trick riders from out west were such a big hit with the crowd they will be back today at 6:15 p.m.

But that's not all you'll see for your $8. There's miniature horses, First Nations Dance, an ox parade, Halflinger single log hauling, tandem draft horses, unicorn hitch, Little Miss Ex competition, Wild 'n' Woolie, kids chuck wagon, the rodeo, Rachel MacLean, and much more.

The midway will be up and running all day, and the barns, exhibit buildings, and display buildings will all be open. Also, the farm museum is open and proving to be extremely popular as Doug Miller talks about all the oldtime tools and other pieces from years gone by.
