Posters are up in TAN Coffee outlets in support of injured employee Mario Champignon
Mario Champignon, the master coffee roaster at The Alternate Network Fair Trade Products Ltd., or TAN Coffee, was severely injured at a waterslide in Truro recently.
The freak accident has left him with serious neck and head injuries. His employer, Lay Yong Tan, said earlier this week that Champignon is in hospital in Halifax and undergoing a number of operations.
Staff at the local café has started a fund to assist the family. Champignon, who has three children, lives in Harbourville. He is expected to be off work for about six months.
According to Tan, about $600 has been donated already in collection boxes to help with expenses.
