Hearts and Hooves trick riders will perform two shows at the Annapolis Valley Exhibition in Lawrenectown.

Juno-winning country singer George Fox takes the stage Thursday, rocker Sass Jordan performs on Friday night, and country singer Jason Blaine rounds up the line-up on Saturday night.

Lawrencetown’s 88th annual Annapolis Valley Exhibition, running August 11 through 16, is shaping up to be another week to remember.
Rachel Taylor, manager, says she’s really excited about this year’s line-up. As usual new events have been added and some old favorites are back. A new Ugly Farm Truck parade should get some second glances, and Hearts and Hooves Trick Riders are guaranteed to steal the show early in the week.
Favorites like the Woodsmen Competition, the ATV races, Goat Mountain, the Wild and Woolie sheep rodeo and the Prince William Games are lined up. Jump 2Q Dog Agility and Head-to-Head pole bending races are also making a come back.
She adds the committee is pleased to present this year’s musical headliners featuring country star George Fox, rocker Sass Jordan, and country favorite Jason Blaine. This year local performers: Misty Mountain, Theresa Porter and the Margie Brown Duo will be opening for these headliners.
And musicians Samantha Power and Rachel MacLean are among the local performers being featured throughout the week.
Hearts and Hooves’ Ashley Furgeson and Mackenzie Jensen are a professional trick riding team from Western Canada. Jensen was featured in an episode of the television show Heartland. Taylor says she can’t wait to see these exciting riders perform Monday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. and Tuesday evening at 8 p.m.
As usual the 4-H groups will showcase their projects throughout the day on Monday, until the Ex officially kicks off at 6:30 p.m. with the street parade. The parade starts at Fitch Rd. and proceeds through the Village.
Tuesday’s evening line-up features lots of horses starting with the youth draft cart at 6:15 p.m., the mini horse/donkey roadster at 7 and the open western pleasure event at 7:15 p.m.. Light and heavy horse pulls and mismatched Clydesdales round out the classes until the the Hearts and Hooves trick riding show starts at 8 p.m.
Wednesday’s line-up features La Baie en Jolie at 6:30 p.m.; Rodeo Night with the Wild and Woolie Sheep Rodeo set for 6:15 p.m. and the Chuck Wagon Races following at 7:15 p.m..
On Thursday, Exhibition Idol heats up at 6 p.m. followed by another Wild and Woolie Sheep Rodeo. The dogs at Jump 2Q Agility will be up to their usual tricks at 7:30 p.m. Misty Mountain opens for musician George Fox starting on the concert stage at 8:30 p.m.
On Friday night Exhibition Idol, the mini equine pole bending, the Wild and Woolie Sheep Rodeo and the Farmers Challenge will keep everyone entertained. The Margie Brown Duo will warm-up the crowd for Canadian rocker Sass Jordan.
On Saturday evening the musical line-up starts with Country Harmony, with Theresa Porter opening for Canadian country music sensation Jason Blaine. The ATV competition will begin Saturday night at 10 p.m.
