Members of Kings District RCMP apprehended an out-of-area  shoplifting ring operating in New Minas July 23.

When the 35-year-old male and two females, ages 24 and 28, were arrested, police recovered over $2,300 in stolen property.

Const. Blair MacMurtery confirmed the individuals were not local, but came from out of the area for the specific purpose of shoplifting.

“It is not uncommon, it happens periodically.”

The trio were taken into custody and held until their court appearance, scheduled for July 24 in Kentville.
