Ogilvie, Kings County.

Shortly before noon on July 20, RCMP arrested a 58-year-old man who police had been looking for in connection with a standoff the night before in Oglivie,  on the Bay of Fundy shore just west of Harbourville.

RCMP spokesman Cpl. Scott MacRae confirmed at 12:30 p.m. that the man had been "arrested without incident" around 11:30 a.m. at a residence on Long Point Road.

The man is currently in police custody, facing charges of assault, uttering threats and weapons-related offences. He is expected to make a court appearance Monday morning. Police have not released his name.

Around 4:55 p.m. Saturday, July 19, RCMP had received a report of an assault on a female on Long Point Road in Ogilvie. The victim managed to escape safely, with injuries police believed to be non life-threatening.

RCMP blocked roads in the area, as they were led to believe  the man was still in the house, and that he might have a weapon.

An RCMP emergency response team entered the home around 9 p.m., but though they found and seized a weapon, the man was not present.

The police investigation and response continued until the man was found.
