Group opposing airpark in Canning holding public meeting

A local group opposed to using Saxon Street in Canning as the site of a replacement airport will be holding a public information session on July 17.

The town hall-style meeting will be held from 7-9 p.m. at the Canning Lions Club, 1000 Seminary Avenue, Canning.

Issues that will be discussed include food security, the loss of finite agricultural land and environmental issues, including the Canadian Geese flyway over the proposed AirPark.
