An 18-year-old man was taken to a Halifax hospital by LifeFlight early Saturday morning.
The Middleton RCMP received a call at 12:14 a.m. on July 12 that there was a car crash in the 900 block of Highway 10 in Springfield, Annapolis County.
Preliminary investigation shows that a Hyundai sedan was travelling south on Highway 10 when the driver lost control and crashed into the ditch.
Members of the New Germany and Springfield fire departments freed the driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, from the car. He was initially taken to the South Shore Regional Hospital before he was airlifted to Halifax. He remains in the hospital with serious injuries.
The investigation into the crash continues. An RCMP collision analyst has been called to the scene to assist. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
