Dana Roy Deell, 43, Aylesford, appeared in Kentville provincial court June 9 for sentencing on a Feb. 1 charge of impaired driving, laid in Greenwood. Deell entered a guilty plea and was fined $1,300 and handed a one year driving prohibition.
During a June 9 appearance in Kentville provincial court, Lauren Ann Fowler, 45, Kingston, was levied a fine of $1,495 and banned from driving for one year after pleading guilty to a charge of impaired operation of a vehicle, laid March 16 in Kingston.
Kyle Leslie Pineo, 22, Kentville was handed a conditional discharge with 12 months of probation and a $100 fine after he pleaded guilty to a charge of assault in Kentville provincial court on June 9. The charge was laid March 30 in New Minas.
During a June 9 appearance in Kentville provincial court, Randolph Christopher Toney, 25, Cambridge, was ordered to pay a $260 fine after he pleaded guilty to breaching probation between Feb. 18 and April 30.
Michael Thomas Langer, 34, New Minas, was back in Kentville court for sentencing June 10 on two Oct. 29, 2013, charges of being at large on an undertaking. Langer previously pleaded not guilty to the charges, but was found guilty during a May 28 trial. The court handed him a conditional discharge with six months probation and a fine of $100.
Impaired driving charges
Matthew Jerome MacKinnon of Greenwood was fined $1,495 and handed an 18-month driving ban and 12 months of probation during a June 10 appearance in Kentville provincial court. MacKinnon, 31, pleaded guilty to a Nov. 2, 2103, charge of impaired driving, laid in New Minas. During the same court appearance MacKinnon was also levied a $1,380 fine for pleading guilty to an additional charge of impaired driving, laid Sept. 28 in Greenwood.
Lyndsey Marie Ueffing, Kentville, appeared in Kentville provincial court June 10 for sentencing on a Jan. 13 assault, laid in Halifax. Ueffing, 30, entered a guilty plea and was handed three months probation and a conditional discharge
Caseys Corner resident Mark Lester Vaughan was back in Kentville court June 10 for sentencing on single charges of assault and unsafe storage of a firearm, laid Feb. 14. Vaughan, 41, entered guilty pleas to both charges and was handed a conditional discharge with 12 months probation and total fines of $200. He was also ordered by the court to make a charitable donation of $150
Joshua James Smith, Kentville, was given a suspended sentence and 12 months of probation after pleading guilty to causing a disturbance and unlawful production of marijuana. The charges were laid Oct. 1, 2013, in Kentville. Smith, 27, was also handed a 10-year firearms ban during his June 12 appearance in Kentville provincial court.
Matthew Edward Thomson, Aylesford, appeared in Kentville provincial court for sentencing on charges of unlawful possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and unlawful production of marijuana , laid April 23 in Aylesford. Thomson, 27, was handed two fines of $750, a term of 18 months probation and ordered to complete 100 hours of community service work. A 10-year firearms ban was also issued by the court during the June 12 court appearance.
