Kings District RCMP are reporting “a good response” from the public during the March 26 storm.

Const. Blair MacMurtery said an RCMP advisory, issued at noon as the storm began to ramp up, appears to have been heeded. Anyone thinking about venturing out in the blizzard was encouraged by police to check the provincial 511 service and “stay off the roads if possible.”

MacMurtery said the fact that many services and businesses closed early or didn’t open at all helped keep vehicles off the road. As a result, he confirmed traffic enforcement “was not a big issue over the storm period.”

Kentville Police confirmed that there were no incidents during the storm.
