A missing man with Valley connections killed on Highway 102 was facing three sex-related charges involving a Hants County girl.

David Allan Doucette, 44, of Dartmouth, died on Feb. 2 after he was struck by a outbound transport truck while on Highway 102 near the Kelly Lake scales. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Court records indicate that Doucette was facing charges of sexual assault, invitation to sexual touching and sexual touching involving a person under the age of 16. The charges stemmed from incidents alleged to have occurred in Ellershouse, Hants County, between Feb. 1, 2008 and May 23, 2011.

Doucette was scheduled to appear in Windsor provincial court on the charges on Jan. 28 but the accused was not present. The court imposed a publication ban to protect the identity of the alleged victim and the matters were adjourned without date, pending re-summons.

Doucette had been reported missing to the Halifax Regional Police on Jan. 29. Police said he had relatives in Kentville and had lived in Ellershouse.
