Two Kings County men charged following a robbery at gunpoint have had their cases set over until Feb. 3.
Anthony George Keddy, 20, of New Minas, and Adam Daniel MacDonald, 19, of North Kentville, both face charges of using a handgun in robbing a woman of marijuana; assault causing bodily harm, using a firearm while committing the indictable offence of robbery and pointing a firearm.
Keddy faces additional charges of failing to comply with probation and failing to comply with an undertaking, as well as charges from another incident that occurred in New Minas on Nov. 6. The November charges include four counts of possessing stolen property valued at less than $5,000 and failing to comply with probation.
The two were remanded into custody following an initial appearance in Windsor Provincial Court on Jan. 17 and appeared again in Kentville court on Jan. 20. Keddy made subsequent court appearances on Jan. 22 and 23 has been remanded in custody until Feb. 3, when he will appear for a show cause hearing and to answer to the Nov. 6 charges.
MacDonald, meanwhile, has been released on a recognizance with a $3,000 surety. His matters have been adjourned to Feb. 3 for election and plea and to give him time to seek counsel.
RCMP arrested two Kings County men for robbery on Jan. 16 after two men entered a Lamont Road apartment and pointed a weapon at a woman. Police responded to a report of a robbery at the apartment at about 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 15. The preliminary investigation indicated that two men entered the residence and pointed a handgun at the female resident.
A struggle ensued with one of the men and the victim was assaulted. The other suspect searched the residence and stole a quantity of marijuana. The two fled the scene. The victim suffered substantial injuries and was treated at hospital.
