The Municipality of Kings invites the public to learn about changes to the National Building Code of Canada 2010.

 

WHO:  The Municipality of Kings Development & Building Services

 

WHAT: Seminar to cover all aspects of the new energy efficiency requirements under the National Building Code of Canada Section 9

 

WHERE:  87 Cornwallis St., Kentville (Orchards Room)

 

WHEN:  6:30-9:30 p.m. Wednesday January 8, 2014

 

The changes, which come into effect January 1, 2014, include the introduction of a new section to Part 9, Houses and Small Buildings called Section 9.36 Energy Efficiency. The new section replaces the former Part 10 of the Nova Scotia Building Code Regulation.

 

Code changes include: Nominal/effective thermal resistance, air-tightness, heating/ventilation/air conditioning, service water heating and prescriptive trade-off and performance options to achieve compliance.
