Outages in the Kentville, Wolfville and Kingston areas have left nearly thousands of Kings County residents without power.
There are 1,891 customers in Centreville, Billtown, Steam Mill Village, Glenmont, Baxters Hbr, Lakeville, Halls Hbr and Sheffield Mills and surrounding areas without power due to freezing rain. Power is not expected to be restored until 11:15 p.m.
Lower Wolfville, Grand Pre, Hortonville, Evangeline Beach, Melanson, Walbrook Mtn, Avonport, and adjacent side streets lost power about 2:30 p.m. due to trees falling on power lines. Power is expected to be restored around 11 p.m. The outage involves 974 customers.
Town of Wolfville from east Main St west to Lynnwood Dr and south to Pleasant St and adjacent side streets, involving 624 customers, will not see power restored until 10:15 p.m.
Port Williams, Starrs Point and North Kentville customers without power won't see it restored until 10:15. There are 716 people without power.
There are 547 customers along the North side of Commercial St, New Minas from Minas Warehouse Rd west to Crescent Dr and adjacent side streets without power. It is not expected to be restored until 6 p.m.
Approximately 217 customers in Highbury, North Alton, South Alton, Welton Landing, Forest Home, Murphy Lake, Blue Mountain, Aldersville, Casey Corner, Canaan, Prospect, Mcgee Lake, Lake George, Lake Paul, Parker Meadows, East Dalhousie areas will be without power until 12:15 a.m.
Waterville west from Thompson Rd, Prospect Rd west from Bond Rd, South Berwick, Morristown, East Aylesford, Weston, Viewmont, Burlington, west side of Harbourville and adjacent side roads lost power due to unknown reasons. It is expected to be restored at 11:45 p.m. It affects 1,268 customers. An additional 148 customers are withouth power on Waterville, Black Rock Rd, Maple Ave west to Berwick, Grafton, Woodville, Canada Creek, Chipman Brook, Somerset, Welsford, Garland, Harbourville and adjacent side roads.
Town of Kentville from Prospect Ave and Aberdeen St east to New Minas including adjacent side streets, West Main St, parts of Main St East to Aberdeen St and parts of School St from Main St., and Glenwood Subd in Kentville are also without power. There are 2,073 customers impacted. The cause of the outage is unknown and power is not expected to be restored until 12:15 a.m.
In the Kingston area, East Kingston, Auburn, Aylesford, Morden, Ogilve, Victoria Harbour, Millville, Nicholsville and surrounding areas are without power. The 699 impacted customers will likely not see power restored until 11:45 p.m.
