Kings South MLA Keith Irving says he's delighted to see renovation of Wolfville School listed in the provincial 2014-2015 Capital Plan announced Dec. 23.
“I have advocated for capital improvements for the Wolfville School as far back as 2008, when I was first elected as Wolfville town councillor, so I am very pleased that our government now recognizes it as a priority in its capital planning,” Irving said.
“I want to acknowledge the hard work of the members of the Wolfville School Advisory Council for their tireless work in advocating for the education needs of this growing community,” he said.
Finance and Treasury Board Minister Diana Whalen announced the education capital plan will be a $94.6 million investment, which includes building 10 new schools, renovating and improving 18 others, purchasing 70 new buses and reducing energy use in schools.
Wolfville School was included in the major new renovations project.
“The capital planning process is ongoing, so I will continue to work hard advocating for other capital projects in Kings South that have been brought to my attention in recent months,” Irving added.
