Fire Lines

Dec. 6

• At 2:34 p.m., Kentville firefighters responded to a fire alarm sounding at a residence on Fox Hill Avenue. No fire was found, and it was determined the alarm was cooking-related.

• Canning firefighters responded to a report of a multi-vehicle collision on Cavell Avenue in Canning at 7:30 p.m. There were no injuries.

 

Dec. 7

• At 12:15 p.m., Kentville firefighters responded to a report of a collision between a car and a deer on Lakewood Road. On their arrival, firefighters found the victim’s vehicle was partially submerged in a bog. The Kentville department’s cold-water rescue unit performed the rescue. One individual was transported to hospital with minor injuries. There was no sign of the deer.

 

Dec. 9

• Waterville and district firefighters responded to a vehicle off the road on Highway 1 just west of Rafuse Road in Waterville at 6:45 p.m. The alarm was cancelled by RCMP when it was determined the firefighters’ response was not required.

 

Dec. 10

• Kentville firefighters responded to a weather-related two-vehicle collision on Highway 358 in Steam Mill just before 8 a.m. There were no injuries.

• At 2:34 p.m., New Minas firefighters responded to a single-vehicle collision on the Cornwallis River Crossing.

• Kentville firefighters responded to a weather-related two-vehicle collision near 530 Park Street at 7:30 p.m. One person was transported to hospital with injuries.

• At 8 p.m., Kentville firefighters responded to a single vehicle off the road on Highway 12 in Blue Mountain. There were no injuries.

• Wolfville firefighters responded to a report of smoke in a house on Black River Road just before 10:20 p.m. It turned out to be a chimney fire.

 

Dec. 11

• Kentville firefighters responded to a single-vehicle collision on Brooklyn Street around 10:30 a.m.. One person was transported to hospital with injuries.

• At 4:42 p.m., New Minas firefighters and the Kings County Hazardous Materials (HazMat) Emergency Response Team responded to a Hazmat incident at a business on Commercial Street. No other details were available.

• Kentville firefighters responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Nichols Avenue and Scott Drive in North Kentville around 6:30 p.m. One person was transported to hospital with injuries.

 

Dec. 12

• At 11:37 a.m., Kentville firefighters responded to a two-vehicle collision on Brooklyn Street. One person was transported to hospital with injuries.
