Elections Nova Scotia is looking into allegations of improper scrutineering at one poll in Kings North.
Dana Phillip Doiron, director of communications, confirmed Oct. 16 that the agency is investigating a contention that one party scrutineer rushed the ballot counting at the poll in Hall's Harbour.
Former Kings North MLA Jim Morton has indicated that the recount the NDP Party requested will take place on Oct. 21.
Elections Nova Scotia staff will make the recount in Kentville, according to returning officer Al Kingsbury.
Morton was defeated by Progressive Conservative John Lohr by 32 votes.
Lohr said had heard some rumours of improprieties at a polling station during the Oct. 8 election, but nothing specific. He is certainly eager to hear the results of the upcoming recount.
"I can't wait till Monday night," Lohr said Oct. 18. "I have a lot of trust in the system that is in place.”
