James Duncan Keats makes his way into Halifax Provincial Court June 13.
The RCMP/HRP Integrated Major Crimes Unit has laid additional sexual assault charges against a Kentville paramedic.
On Oct. 17, James Duncan Keats was arrested and charged with four counts of sexual assault and four counts of breach of trust. All charges stem from allegations of inappropriate conduct while Keats was working as a paramedic with Emergency Health Services (EHS).
Police allege these incidents occurred between Dec. 20, 2010 and April 21, 2013 and involve four female victims ranging from 24 to 64 years of age.
The offences occurred while patients were being transported in an EHS ambulance from Windsor, Fall River and Lower Sackville to hospital.
Keats currently has three prior charges of sexual assault and breach of trust before the courts. He has been remanded into custody and is appearing in Halifax Provincial Court this morning.
Keats was not present for an Oct. 8 court appearance in Windsor on two charges of breach of trust and two counts of sexual assault dating to Sept. 1, 2012, and May 26, 2013, in Hants County. He is scheduled to be back in court Nov. 26 to enter pleas to those charges.
