The Nova Scotia NDP has decided Jim Morton, who lost his seat in Tuesday’s provincial election, will seek a recount.
Morton was defeated in the riding of Kings North to Progressive Conservative John Lohr by 32 votes.
NDP spokesperson Jennifer Stewart indicated on Friday that the party is going to request a judicial recount.
Morton was elected four years ago in his fourth electoral battle.
Stewart noted that Darrell Dexter, the former Premier, will not be requesting a recount in his similarly narrow defeat at the polls.
