Heather Watts

Wolfville Historical Society volunteer Heather Watts has been selected by the Association of Nova Scotia Museums as the first recipient of an Award for

Excellence in Museum Practices – Individual Contribution.

President Anthony Harding said that the society was very pleased that Watts was selected. The award, which is part of a new program, will be given each year to a person who has “exhibited exemplary commitment and contribution to a museum in the province.”

Watts received the award at a ceremony at

Government House in Halifax on Sept. 19.

According to Harding, the society decided to nominate Watts “principally as a way of recognizing her leadership in improving the management of Randall House and organizing and maintaining the society’s archives.”

She also worked on the development of two "Dottie Stewart" exhibits.

“We are thrilled that she has been chosen as the first recipient,” he said.
