A Lunenburg man charged following the death of a dog will be back in court in October to enter a plea.
Jason Remai, 36, appeared in Kentville Provincial Court on Sept. 23. He is charged with failing to provide an animal, a dog, with reasonable protection from injurious heat or cold. The matter was adjourned to Oct. 21 for plea.
Remai was charged under the Animal Protection Act of Nova Scotia after Kings RCMP responded to two calls about a dog in distress in Wolfville at around 3:20 p.m. on July 21.
A member of the public found the pet in a parked Volkswagen in a parking lot at Acadia University.
A police investigation was conducted in collaboration with the Nova Scotia SPCA.
