Highway 101 will be closed between exits 13 and 14 overnight starting Sept. 23 for a paving project.
As of Sept. 23, drivers along Highway 101 at night will have to make a detour between Coldbrook and Kentville.
The highway was closed to traffic overnight starting Monday for approximately a month, according to Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal, for widening and repaving. A department employee said current lanes are being widened. No new lanes are being added.
During weekdays, the road between exits 13 and 14 will be closed from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. On Saturdays and Sundays, it will be closed 9 p.m. to 8 a.m.
Traffic will be detoured onto Highway 1 through Kentville.
Signs are up at the exits alerting drivers.
Bridge reconstruction work will reduce traffic to one lane on the 101 over the Cornwallis River Bridge just west of Coldbrook every day until Oct. 31. Traffic lights will be in place 24 hours a day on the bridge.
Crews are also working on Lamont Road, Lakeville, replacing culverts from Sept. 22 to 27. A detour route will be marked for drivers.
