This sign on Pleasant Street was reminding passersby of Yarmouth mayor Pam Mood's All Hands on Deck meeting, which will be at the Mariners on Wednesday evening, and giving thanks to the International Ferry Partnership and its co-chair Keith Condon.
Condon has been singled out by several of the principals in the negotiations for the work he has done in keeping the ferry issue alive and assisting in the final negotiations that saw a deal reached last week between STM Quest and the provincial government.
Graham Steele, minister of economic and rural development and tourism, told the Vanguard last week that Condon's work, both before the province made the decision to provide up to $21 million in funding for re-establishment of a ferry service, and during the final negotiations, was a critical factor in getting to a deal.
Tomorrow's meeting is designed to identify what needs to be done to get the town ready for the restoration of the ferry service in 2014, and who is prepared to help get those priroty tasks completed.
