Sweet dreams for pot lovers went up in smoke last month, after Annapolis RCMP confiscated a large number of marijuana plants in a series of province-wide seizures.

The aroma of fresh pot was thick in the Bridgetown air recently, as RCMP officers loaded a moving van with reefer tagged for destruction.

The Annapolis detachment of the RCMP seized a number of plants in the county that were over two meters high, with woody stems measuring at least 6 centimeters wide.

The annual seizures are one component of ongoing efforts to deter all aspects of the illegal drug trade, according to RCMP Sgt. Gordon Hay. “It’s no surprise to the community that these raids were taking place, and we thank everyone for the cooperation and information we have received throughout the year,” he said.
