The Kings Street Crime Unit conducted two drug searches last week on the Canaan Rd. and near Berwick.

In Canaan, they seized 58 marihuana plants growing on the property of the accused, says Kentville Police Chief Mark Mander.

One adult male has been charged for possession for the purpose of trafficking and production of marihuana and will appear in court early in September.

At a house on the #1 Highway just west of Berwick, police were searching for contraband cigarettes. They seized 68 bags of illegal cigarettes. One man will be appearing in court early September next month facing charges under the Excise Act.
