Community, cops crack down on Kingston drug house

RCMP in Kingston conducted a drug search at an apartment on Main Street in Kingston early July 19 after receiving numerous community complaints.

Police were told about suspicious comings and goings from the apartment unit. Two adult residents of the apartment were arrested and a quantity of marijuana and other illegal drugs seized. Drug paraphernalia and a quantity of cash were also seized by the officers

RCMP Cst. Les Kakonyi added the investigation is on-going.

Charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act, as well as with breach of probation, is a 43-year-old Kingston woman.

A 43-year-old male faces a similar charge of trafficking, and a 28-year-old male faces charges of possession of a narcotic.

The RCMP were assisted in this investigation by the provincial enforcement task force under the Safer Communities & Neighbourhood Act.
