Wolfville Chief Tim MacLeod said June 27 his department had responded to 16 calls, including a number of silent alarms, in the past seven days. Half way through the year, the department has responded to 110 calls; normally, they field 170 or 180 calls per year.

Wolfville firefighters responded to a brush fire in North Grand Pre at 10:25 p.m. June 20.

Wolfville responded to a building alarm on Elm Avenue at 2:41 a.m. June 21.

Wolfville firefighters responded to an electrical pole on fire at Lumsden pond at 2:35 p.m. June 21.

Wolfville responded to a building alarm in Avonport at 2:38 p.m. June 21.

Wolfville firefighters responded to an electrical fire on Pleasant Street at 8:30 a.m. June 22.

Wolfville responded to a building alarm on Earnscliffe Avenue at 6:48 p.m. June 22.

Wolfville firefighters responded to a house fire on the Ridge Road at 1:44 p.m. June 23. The house incurred damage to the kitchen ceiling. Greenwich responded in mutual aid.

Wolfville responded to two large brush piles on fire just west of Highway 101 Exit 10 in Grand Pre at 2 p.m. June 24.

Wolfville firefighters responded to a building alarm on Acadia Street at 2:04 p.m. June 24.

Greenwich firefighters responded to an industrial accident in a gravel pit in Greenwich June 24. A truck tipped over on its side and an individual incurred minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to hospital. Wolfville responded in mutual aid.

Kentville firefighters responded to a call about gas spilling from a car on Main Street at 12:30 a.m. June 22.

Kentville responded to a smoke condition in a home on Highway 12 at 2:30 a.m. June 22. Smoke was coming from a woodstove, but it turned out not to be serious.

Kentville firefighters responded to a fire alarm at KCA school June 23. Someone pulled the alarm.

Kentville received a complaint about someone burning garbage on Scott Drive June 25. Fire Chief Shawn Ripley investigated, but the fire was out when he arrived.

Kentville firefighters responded to a medical emergency in Lakeville June 26.

Canning firefighters responded to an electrical fire on Lower Canard Street in Lower Canard June 21. There were minimal damages.

Canning responded to a single vehicle rollover on Pereau Road in Pereau June 21. One person was transported to hospital with undetermined injuries.

Canning firefighters responded to a call for medical assistance on Tupper Brook Road in Scott’s Bay June 22 and to a call for medical assistance on the Pereau Road in Blomidon June 25.
