ARTsPLACE in Annapolis Royal has a full line-up of fun activities this week.
Even though summer is truly a wonderful time of year, with friends and families visiting, sometimes hosts are left wondering what to do to keep their visitors entertained.
Well, now you can sit back and relax as ARCAC has your entertainment organized. All you need to do is pile your company into the car and head to ARTsPLACE. Really, how easy is that?
Judy Foster of Clarence will be at ARTsPLACE on July 29th: from 11 – 5pm to demonstrate spinning woolwith a spinning wheel and with a drop spindle Using fibre from goats and sheep raised on their own farm, called Noah’s Place, Judy will also demonstrate fibre preparation and carding. She will help people understand the entire process of fibre to knitted garment.
Treat for music lovers
If you love music and enjoy nature, you will not want to miss children’s singer/songwriter and biologist Ashley Moffat. She will be at ARTsPLACE from 1 to 4 pm on July 29th.
Ashley will begin with a demo of some her songs and then review how they were created. She will talk about the process of song writing and discuss her connection of music and nature. During the last half of the day she will hold a song writing workshop.
July 30: Jewellery creator and designer Elizabeth Pelham will set up a design and beading table for visitors and demonstrate making earrings, necklaces and pendants. She will help visitors create their own designs so they will be able to make their own earrings or pendant. What an opportunity for anyone interested in jewellery! Plan on being at ARTsPLACE from 12 -4:30 pm and 6:30 – 8:00 pm.
Need a birthday or wedding gift; we can help with that too. Drop into the Annapolis Community Health Center to see the current exhibit of photographs, fabric art, acrylics, water colors and oils by ARCAC members. This show is coordinated by Connie Lowe and 20% of all sales go to the Hospital Auxiliary.
Visit the Chapel Gallery at ARTsPLACE to experience The Art of Being Human, an exhibit of paintings, poetry, and pottery by The Annapolis Shambhala Meditation Group. Join the group for workshops during the exhibit: July 29 "Yoga Dance and Meditation"; August 5 "Asian Temples and Buddhist Sculptures". All workshops / talks begin at 7pm.

And finally, we are pleased to announce a new show entitled "Paper Work" by artist Ted Lind, will open in the MYM Gallery from 2 to 4 pm on Saturday, July 26th.
