Volunteer citizens, part of an initiative called the Yarmouth Community Improvement Group, have been hitting different parts of the town to help clean up storm debris from Arthur. Some of the areas they've hit have included Frost Park, the cenotaph, the Yarmouth South playground, the Collins Street parking lot and the town hall.

They've gotten rid of fallen trees, raked up leaves and picked up branches.

You can find info about their cleanup initiatives on the group's Facebook page.

The "Yarmouth Community Improvement Group" should be VERY proud of their efforts and accomplishments. Kudos to ALL of you!!! I'm not on Facebook and just heard of all this group is doing/have done today, Wed., July 9. I would love to have been part of this group. Must admit though, we're still not finished cleaning up our own property, because we too, have been helping neighbours. This group deserves a BIG thank you from the town and anyone receiving their assistance.
