Updated: Kentville traffic stop yields drug arrests

On  July 2, members of the Kentville Police Service, along with RCMP Street Crime Unit conducted a traffic stop in Kentville that resulted in a variety of drug charges being laid.

Jason Keith Hiltz, 41,  was charged with possession and trafficking of morphine. Craig David Robar, 37,  is facing charges of possession of morphine for the purpose of trafficking, obstructing a peace officer, breach of probation and possession of cannabis.

Both men, who reside at the same Main Street address in Kentville,  appeared in Kentville court July 3 at which time they were released on bail. The pair will return to court Aug. 11 to enter pleas.

A female suspect was also arrested July 2 and charged with possession of morphine. She has yet to appear in court.

Stemming from the investigation, a drug search warrant was executed on a Kentville residence where a 74 year-old male was taken into custody for trafficking in morphine and possession of the purpose of trafficking in morphine. Police seized morphine and a large amount of cash while executing the search warrant. The man was released and will be in court in August.

    One more good reason not to cut the police. Mayor sounds like you have some issues in your town. Time to wake up council and mayor. Maybe you to Pearl or Boyd ...... That's if your not in Florida vac for 6 months of the year. How would you guys know what the town people wanted anyways. You collect a full councillors salary and only live here 1/2 of the year and still make decision....... Don't seem fair to me.
