South shore man to serve four years for Berwick robbery

A resident of Glen Margaret, a community located in the Halifax Regional Municipality near Peggy’s Cove, was in Kentville provincial court June 16 for sentencing on a charge of robbery committed in Berwick.

James Murray Doucette, was charged with breaking and entering into a residence in Berwick and committing robbery on May 9, 2011.

Doucette pleaded guilty to the charge in a previous court appearance and was sentenced to four years in custody for the offence on June 16. The court also ordered Doucette to comply with a DNA collection order and handed him a 14-year firearms prohibition as part of his sentence.
