Recognizance offence

Shane Leon Smith, 37, of Aylesford, has been sentenced to one day in custody deemed served for failing to comply with his recognizance.

Smith pleaded not guilty to the charge on Dec. 2, 2013. The matter was adjourned for trial but Smith changed his plea to guilty on April 16. Smith was sentenced to one day in custody deemed served by his appearance in court.

Smith committed the offence in Aylesford on Nov. 14, 2013.

Failed to comply with probation

Matthew Ryan Beattie, 22, of Middleton, was handed a conditional sentence and additional probation for failing to comply with a probation order.

Beattie pleaded guilty to the charge March 3. On April 15, Beattie was handed an eight-week conditional sentence order with daily curfew from 12 a.m. to 5 a.m. and nine months of probation, including 30 hours of community service work.

Beattie committed the offence in Greenwood on Nov. 19, 2013.

Failed to comply with probation

Dustin Troy Jodrey, 30, of Gaspereau, was also fined and sentenced to probation for failing to comply with probation.

Jodrey pleaded guilty to the charge on April 14. Judge Alan Tufts fined him $13 and sentenced him to 12 months of probation. He was ordered to complete 30 hours of community service work or make a $250 donation to a charity of his choice in lieu.

Jodrey committed the offence in Sheffield Mills on Jan. 5.
