RCMP release name of Cape Sable Island man who died in boating accident

Annapolis County RCMP have released the name of the 51-year-old fisherman who drowned after the small boat he was in overturned in Fisher lake area.

 Cecil Ellsworth Brannen, 51, from Cape Sable Island, drowned after he fell in the frigid water. The investigation is continuing and RCMP do not suspect foul play.

A call was received on Tuesday evening about two fisherman that had been in a small boat that overturned in the lake. One male was able to swim to shore and call the RCMP. Preliminary investigation determined the small inland vessel struck a rock and the operator lost control, causing the vessel to overturn.
