The Kings County Chapter of the Schizophrenia Society of Nova Scotia is presenting a Celebration of Hope on April 26.
Guest speaker for the event will be Starr Dobson, former ATV personality and president and chief executive officer of the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia.
The fundraising event, which gets underway at 6:30 p.m. at the Louis Millett Community Complex, New Minas, will also feature silent and ticket auctions and performances by the Wolfville Gentlemen’s Chorus, directed by Nancy Denton-Peck, and Gaelic Chorus and Highland Dancers. Evangeline Club musicians will also entertain. Refreshments will be provided.
Proceeds raised will benefit renovations and peer support programming at the Evangeline Club, which provides a safe, friendly place for people with mental health issues to drop-in for a variety of activities and fellowship.
