Traffic is moving a little slower than usual in New Minas this morning, April 1, as an extended period of freezing rain and ice pellets have made driving tricky.

There are no weather warnings for Kings County today, April 1, but driving conditions are tricky as the result of an extended period of freezing rain and ice pellets. All Annapolis Valley Regional School Board schools are closed. The Environment Canada forecast for Kentville is calling for ice pellets mixed with snow changing to a few flurries this morning, ending this afternoon. Cloudy skies are expected this afternoon with a 40 per cent chance of flurries. There could be another 2 cm of snow and ice pellet accumulation with local blowing snow late this morning and this afternoon. The wind will be out of the northeast at 40 km/h, gusting to 70. A daytime high temperature of -1C is expected.
