House fire in Culloden; no one home

No one was home when a house in Mount Pleasant was consumed by fire this morning.

Digby Fire Department was called out to 1028 Culloden Road about 6 kilometres outside Digby at 3:50 a.m. after a neighbour called to report the house was on fire.

Smith’s Cove and Brighton Barton fire departments also responded.

When the firefighters arrived eight minutes later the house was completely engulfed in flames.

No one has been living in the home recently but there was power to the house. The fire chief notified the homeowners by phone from the scene.

The structure was a complete loss.

The firefighters left the scene at 6:20 a.m.
