Forecasters are warning that an intense storm could bring snow or rain to Nova Scotia on Wednesday.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement that an intense storm system is forecast to hit the Maritimes on Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

An intense low pressure system is expected to affect the Maritime provinces Wednesday evening into Thursday. This system is expected to bring significant amounts of snow or rain to Nova Scotia. There is a lot of uncertainty in the track of the low and the precipitation type and amounts. Environment Canada will continue to monitor the development of this low pressure system.

The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as warnings may be required or extended.
