Shelburne RCMP say weapons and drugs charges are pending against three young people from the Halifax area after their vehicle was searched Wednesday morning on Highway 103 near Beaverdam.
Sgt. Ben Parry of the Shelburne RCMP said the vehicle was stopped and searched after a 911 call was received. Officers discovered a substantial quantity of drugs including marihuana, hashish, prescription pills. RCMP also seized several knives, a machete and a significant quantity of cash.
Three males, one youth and two adults, are facing charges including two counts of possession of a controlled substance for purpose of trafficking, possession of weapons (knives and a machete) for a dangerous purpose and breach of recognizance.
The three males ages 17, 18 and 21 are all from the Halifax area.
They will go to court in Barrington on Thursday.
