Crafts, games for all ages

Lots of things are planned to keep kids busy around Annapolis during the week of March Break.

Firefly Makery in Bridgetown is hosting a March Break camp, March 10th - 14th, 9 a.m. until noon, for children ages 8-12. This week features a variety of crafts for all ages.

Kids will work on one small take-home craft each day and other larger crafts that will be featured in a group show at the end of the week. Kids will make masks, work with clay, painting, paper crafts and more.

The cost of this weeklong program is $75 + HST, children are asked to bring their own drinks and snacks.  Call 665-2454 to register.

The Annapolis Regional Library is hosting various March Break activities at its branches in each community. Whether it’s picking up a new craft or hobby, fun events are being planned for kids of all ages and interests.

The Lego Club will meet Lawrencetown on March 7 and March 14 at 3 p.m. Meet friends and build Lego each week until April 11.

At 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 8 Steve Weeks will be in concert at the Bridgetown Fire Hall. This Colorado-based musician is touring the Maritimes, bringing funny songs that tell stories to delight all ages. This event is being co-sponsored by the RCMP Senior Safety Program.

Tablet Time is being offered over four sessions in Bridgetown and Lawrencetown, Each session features a book, an app, and a literacy craft as well as time to explore iPads. Visit the March break events section of the Library website for details.

In Middleton, kids aged 5-12 years can take a bite out of March Break on Tuesday, March 11 from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. Make a shark craft, play a shark game and have a sea snack. Register online, or by telephone 825-4835.

Also on March 11 at 4 p.m. in Kingston, anyone itching to stitch can learn to knot. This event also takes place in Middleton March 12 at 6:30 p.m. This event is planned for ages 16 and older.

On Thursday, in Bridgetown and Lawrencetown, kids aged 8-12 can create some cool art projects with pipe cleaners. Make bugs, crowns, worms, the possibilities are endless.

Girlpower for girls ages 10-15 is also happening in Middleton on Thursdayat 6:30  p.m.. Finally March Break wraps up in Annapolis Royal on Friday March 14  with Hooked, needles and pins crafting. This fun craft time is planned for kids age 9 - 14

And takes place at 6:30 p.m.
