A snowy owl’s visit to Shelburne was causing a few people to stop and look up on Monday morning.

The white raptor stood out in stark contrast against the black roofing shingles on top of the Shelburne Furniture building.

This winter has seen an invasion of Snowy Owls in the area.

They have been seen all over Atlantic Canada, the U.S. Northeast, around the Great Lakes and even as far south as North Carolina.

Snowy Owls are rarely seen in the middle of a town however.

Organizations: Shelburne Furniture

Geographic location: Shelburne, Atlantic Canada, U.S. Northeast Great Lakes North Carolina
